The above KB articles are related, but may not address your problem. If you installed Office from an network share, you may need to ensure that the user had rights to access that folder, at least the first time they run an Office app.

| Quote: | I've installed Office 2000 Pro in Windows XP Pro. When I logon as
Administrator, all program run smoothly.
But when I logon as other name (not Administrator) and start to use
word/excel. An error message shows: " Error 1706. No valid source could be
found for product Office 2000 professional SR-1. The Windows installer cannot
continue."
This message appears several times and utimately the word/excel cannot
start. It happens even when I have my Office 2000 CD-Rom in the drive.
What could I do to fix this problem? Please help.

Bats |
