Run the file downloaded, this may install the drivers it may not, you'll
know if it does. If it doesn't install, it would of extracted a whole lot of
files somewhere. From system properties, click the device manager button, in
the device list right click your display adapter and choose the update
driver menu item. Select the 'Install from a list or specific location
(Advanced)' option. Refer to the extracted files folder from the browse
button. Then click next.

Could be you will D/L a self executable file, if so, just D/Click it
and follow the prompts.
Otherwise from Device Manager > graphics card > properties > choose update
driver and point it to the location of the new driver.

Hi,
Usually they are in .exe (self executing) format, so double clicking it is
the way to go. If it is a .inf (install information) file, then you can
manually update as well, but this is rarely necessary anymore. His user
account will need administrative rights to install a driver file, so if he
does not have this level he needs to either logon as admin, or right click
the file and use "run as" and enter the admin information.

Check the instructions at the site you're getting the driver from.

Very similar routine to Win98. If exists, uninstall any related current
video card software. ATI and Diamond for instance has this. Change to
video driver to the default for PCI video card. Reboot, and follow the card
manufacturers instructions for the video card you're installing.
