Activation not possible anymore |
|
|
Hello!
When I boot up the Windows 2003 server, I get this message:
The evaluation period for this copy of Windows has ended. Windows
cannot
restart. To continue using WIndows, please purchase and install a
retail
copy of the product.
I want to activate the product now but it's not possible anymore! When
I boot up in Safe Mode I can't run the upgrade with the Windows 2003
Server Enterprise edition CD as the Active Directory Preparation fails.
Booting up in Safe Mode with Network Connection leads to the same
message as booting up in normal mode.
So what can I do? I don't want to reinstall everything again cause I
made a lot of changes to the system. There must be a way for easy
activation!

They're 100% legal. I tried calling them but the number doesn't work so
I'll continue looking for another one. |

It is evident from your description of the problem that the installation cd
used to install Windows Server 2003 on your HD was just an evaluation
version. Its period of usability(usually, 60-120 days) appears to have
expired. Evaluation versions can only be upgraded to fully licensed
versions by purchasing a license and installation kit for Windows Server
2003 from Microsoft.

I assume that these are genuine, legal, full copies of windows and that
you haven't been conned into buying dodgy versions? Have you run
microsoft to see if you can activate it over the phone? |

Microsoft's phone number should be available from their web site.
BTW: This newsgroup is for Windows XP. XP is for a workstation PC amd
Windows 2003 is for SERVERS!
