Would somebody help me please, I have a small network , Xp Pro workstation
with a Windows 2003 server as my Domain. But when I tried to log -in to the
XP I'm experiencing a long delay when you log on to the domain after I type
in the the user name and password on the log-on screen, during the log-on
process you see "applying computer settings" message for several minutes.
However you can log on to the same computer quickly when the network
connection is unplug.
please help!

One very common cause of slow logons to a Windows domain is DNS issues. In
particular, make sure your primary DNS server is you domain controller, NOT
some external DNS server. In fact, it's better if the clients don't access
any external DNS controller at all.

Good luck!

We had a similar, but much worse problem on our network, where the

machine was "applying computer settings" indefinitely; but would get to
a log on prompt if we unplugged the network lead. For us this went away
with SP2
