Black screen |
|
|
I am running XP on an athlon 3200 with a gig of RAM. After my computer is
left idle for several minutes, a black screen appears and the only thing i
can do is push the power button to restart. no other function gets a
response. When using the computer intensively, running illustrator, photoshop
for hours, while surfing online, no problems whatsoever. i keeps on running
fine. Now a whileback this was happening but i turned off the system restore
service and that fixed the problem for a while. ( thnks to blackviper) any
ideas? |

I would see if hibernate is enabled. If so, disable it and see if that
solves the isue.
Right click desktop>properties>screen saver tab>power button>hibernate
tab>uncheck 'enable hibernate'

If that doesn't work go to the power options but dont hit the hibernat tab.
make sure that always on is selected and reply if problems persist

Look in the BIOS under "Power saving" or "Power Management" and see if
you have something set there.
