Cannot click on certain buttons |
|
|
Hello all, and thanks for any help,
On most web pages I cannot click on some buttons, for example I try to
signon to an e-mail account and try to click the signon button it does not do
a thing. I am able to signon to these accounts using a different PC. I try to
do a search in google and I can not click on search. I CAN signon to my yahoo
account but when I try to click send it will not work.
I have emptyed my cache, deleted cookies, History, scanned for viruses,
spyware, trojans.
If anyone could help I would be thankful...
I am about to low level format my PC and start over....:( |

When you're prompted for the updated system files:
Case 1: If you've installed a Service Pack (1 or 2) after you installed
Windows XP, mention the path as follows:
C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386
Case 2: If you have a Windows XP Operating System CD integrated with the
latest Service Pack, simply point to the following path:
X:\i386
Where X:\ is the CD-ROM drive-letter.

Reboot and try again. If not, open %Windir%\Inf folder
Right-click IE.INF and choose Install

Ramesh, I cannot thank you enough for your help, unfortunately this did not
work, I went as far as to delete my profile and let the system re-create it
again, I ran the FIXIE.EXE tool from the http://windowsxp.mvps.org, I signed
in as ADMIN and I get the same problem. I am guessing it is time to Low Level
Format my laptop and start over. I will not be doing this for at least 2
weeks. I'll check back to see if you have posted any other ideas but at least
I know I am not the only one stumped. I have been working with MS products
since the days of DOS.
Many thanks :)
