Is there a way that I can censor a video with Movie Maker? What I need to do
is black out, or otherwise obscure a person's face.

Hello,

The answer is no.

BUT, the answer is YES if you use MovieXone a free program found on some cover
disks...PC UUtilities here in the UK

The method is simple.....the video is placed on the lower video track and on
the upper track you have an image with a transparent background and a "blob"
that you will use to cover the face. You can edit the position of the still
image on a per frame basis meaning perfect cover of the face. The free version
gives just one fixed video track and one that is fully editable.

The big brother to MovieXone is called MovieDV version 6 and costs US $69 and
is available from www.aist.de You get 11 video tracks meaning in one pass you
could hide 11 faces...if you needed more than that you can at a small cost by
more video tracks...I've never done that so don't know the cost and how well
they integrate.

Thanks for the tip. From what I've been able to find, the free version of
MovieXone is no longer offered. I'll look into it further.
In the meantime, if anyone has other suggestions, I'd like to hear them.

MovieXone appears every now and then on the PC Utilities Mag and as far as I
know it ALWAYS appears on their Video edition.....but if you cannot get the
Mag....you can go to their website and download it from there...

You have to pay a small subscription.....don't run away from that phrase...wait
to you see the range of supposedly "no longer available software" that IS

Actually, it was PCWorld.com that led me to believe that it is no longer
available. On their site, it said, "Per request of the developer, this file
is no longer available."

I'll try the livedownloads.co.uk site.

bumph on the boxes.....and I got one of those annoying shop assistants who
would not go away...anyway, there were some drives showing the label +R and
