My buddy has not been able to receive executable files since he installed
sp2. are there any solutions?

Greetings Dave,

This is actually a feature of the Windows Messenger within SP2 (and also affects Windows
Messenger 5.1). The easiest solution is to simply use MSN Messenger 6.x instead:
