UPNP Issues |
|
|
Hi there,
I know this issue is coming up all the time, nevertheless I couldn't find
answers to my question in this whole newsgroup.
I am using XP SP1 current patchlevel in a wireless network environment. My
router is a SMC 2804 WBR with enabled UPNP. I have SSDP and UPNP services
enabled on my PC, the Microsoft Gateway detection component is also
installed.
I can see my router in Network Connections / Internet Gateway, if I try to
look at its setting (Properties / Settings) I get the error message "The
internet connection sharing computer is not configured to let network users
control or disable the shared internet connection..."
MSN Messenger 7.0 BETA states my advanced connection information as "You are
connected to the internet through a UPNP port restricted NAT.
(Administrator)" I have been researching the meaning of this sentence,
haven't been able to find an explanation of the various possibilities
(IP-restricted, symetric, ...) though.
MSN Messenger will let me use my webcam but Audio only works in one
direction.
Q1: Does anybody have information on how to enable a complete session of
webcam and audio under these circumstances?
Q2: Does anybody have information on the various meanings of the MSN
Advanced Connection Info?
Thanks for your help!
