Hi,
In what format should I save finished movies to my computer? I burn all my
movies to DVD for playback on a normal TV. I want to achieve the best possibe
playback quality no matter how big the file size may be. Keep in mind that in
Australia the playback version is generally PAL.
Thank You.

DV-AVI is the best quality for burning discs to play on TV.

Hello there,

Industry save to an uncompressed format...approx 10 times larger file (Compared
to DV-AVI) for given pixel size, but we lower mortals when using Movie Maker
have to be content with DV-AVI AVI is probably the most widely used format for
DVD software at our end of the market. For one hour of DV-AVI you should expect
a file size of between 13 to 16GB...it all depends how complex the image is.

Hope that helps :)
