How do you alter the position of text on a clip, by default the text is
placed in the centre. I would like it to be placed at the top or bottom

The position varies with the selected text animation... you can add spaces
or blank lines to tweak it a bit, but fine-tuning of the position isn't a
feature of Movie Maker.

Hello,

You can use left, center or right align and you can add spaces at the beginning
or end but the results are not too good.

I use other software that creates the text on a completely transparent
background. I can add that to Movie Maker and do a basic fade and have a very
long lead in or out of the fully transparent parts...it works better if you
have the full pack of effects from Pixelan.com but even then its not 100% so on
the odd occasion I use a program called MovieDV to do the text part (and
animate it)....the free version is called MovieXOne and its rather good...you
will often see it in PC Utility mags
