ALWAYS FAXED VIA WINDOWS AND 56K MODEM WITHOUT DIFFICULTY. HAVE NOW
INSTALLED BROADBAND CONNECTION AND UNDERSTAND THAT I NEED TO PLUG IN MY OLD
MODEM TO SPLITTER IF I WANT TO FAX. PROBLEM IS ALL VOICE CALLS NOW
INTERPRETED AS FAX. IS THERE A WAY ROUND THIS TO AVOID HAVING TO GIVE
NOTICE THAT I AM READY TO RECEIVE A FAX (TO GIVE ME TIME TO
CONNECT/DISCONNECT OLD MODEM?) OR DO I HAVE TO BUY A DEDICATED FAX MACHINE ?

Set the fax to 10 rings before it auto answers

Why don't you just yell at everyone the way you're doing at us - save you a
helluva lot of money on fax calls!

Alternatively, you can configure manual receive which will receive the fax
only when you explicitly want to receive the fax. To configure manual
recieve use the Fax Configuration Wizard from the Fax Console and select
"Manual answer" in "selct Device for Sending or Receiving Faxes" page.
