Hi,

This is so strange and annoying symptom.

I use 3 kinds of M/B - ASUS P4PE, ASUS P4PE X/TE, ASUS P4P800 SE
They have several USB ports on back panel, and also have extened USB port
pin which can be connected to front side USB port of PC case.

In other words,
ASUS P4PE has 2 back side usb(1,2), 2 front side usb(3,4)
ASUS P4PE X/TE has 2 back side usb(1,2), 2 front side usb(3,4)
ASUS P3P800 SE has 4 back side usb(1,2,3,4), 4 front side usb(5,6,7,8)

First of all, P4PE is O.K, no problem.
however,
When I start or restart Windows XPE as WIBU Key which is a legacy USB device
is attached on front side usb port of P4PE X/TE or P4P800 M/B, system is
stepped, and the demonic bllue screen appears.

Without attatched WIBU key, windows start up normally.
If I attach WIBU Key on front side USB port, it works normally.
Most of all,
On the Windows XP Professional, There are never problem even though M/B is
P4PE X/TE or P4P800 SE.
so, it's not a problem of M/B.

Somebody help me.
It's very urgent.

David,

Giving us info about the BSOD would help.

Make sure you've got this QFE installed when you build your image:

David,

We need BSOD numbers for start.
Also you will probably have to use remote debugging from windbg to give us more info :-(

When do you see BSOD?
Also what happen if you connect for the first time USB disk before that fatal boot? I wonder if error occur during the installation
or initialization of disk.

Please check how USB is wired. (Do you have only one EHCI controller?) Also disconnect if you can all USB 2.0 devices and see what
happen.

Slobodan

David,

How do the devices behave with XP Pro?

See if these links are of any help to you:

Hi David,

Other drivers as in non MS-drivers for that device?
Unfortunately is you are using non-MS drivers there is little that we can do except to give you suggestions what to do. But you will
have to setup windbg for remote debugging and to give us for start list from "!analyze -v" command.

Follow Konstanins links you might find some info there.
