Windows Firewall Problem |
|
|
Hi all ..
Our encoder runs on XPe. We have windows media encoder installed in it,
along with windows firewall component. I have assigned a static IP to my
target machine using the command shell utility, netsh. So now i can ping
from the target to other systems on the network and viceversa.
Windows Firewall switched 'ON' and the settings untouched
--------------------------------------------------------------
I cannot pull the encoded audio/video from a particular port of the target
machine. Error message is "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because
the server is not responding. If you entered a URL or path to play the file,
verify that it is correct. If you clicked a link to play the file, the link
may not be valid."
Windows Firewall completely switched 'OFF'
----------------------------------------------
I expected this to work. But again i fail to pull the encoded audio and
video, with an error message which seem to appear quite fast compared to the
previous scenario, "Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The
server name may be incorrect or the server is busy. Try again later.". And
this time i am sure the is not that busy to cancel any communication.
Does anyone have any ideas why is this so ??
thanks,
