Messenger uses the standard DirectShow interface for its webcam support; if the webcam
doesn't support this (or rather, if the driver doesn't), then you can't use it in Messenger.
This is really up to Linksys.

Linksys says it can't be done. Says it is only for recording and monitoring.
For $300 it this seems to be crazy. They offer DDNS service as an internet
camera. Why can't the camera be incorporated into your basic system as a Web
