capturing from sony giga-pocket
does anyone have any experience with this? I can not seem to make it work...
I can save the files and them convert them in movie maker but would be nice
to capture them directly

RE: capturing from sony giga-pocket |

I have Sony Visio Destop with Giga-Pocket and I have same problem as you.
I am even worse.
After I create video file (MPG) from Giga-Pocket and try to import this file
from Movie Maker I get following exception:
The file C:\Giga Pocket V5\0011.MPG cannot be imported because the codec
required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have
already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows
Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
Can you tell me how did you successfully import your file to Movie Maker?
I don't know if I have to install codec seperate for movie maker. Did you do
it?
Thanks!

I export to avi or mpeg1 and it seems to work... the mpeg 2 will not
work..... I think it likes the avi export the best... try those and see
what happens... I went though some of the same problems as you have'''

Thanks for your comment!
BTW now I have problem converting mpeg to avi format.
I downloaded couple of coverter programs such as "AVI MPEG video converter"
but converted file is corrupted. I guess size of movie file is too big (it is
about 4 GB).
Can you suggest me a good converter program (free converter is prefered)?
Thanks a lot!

if have not started experimenting with them yet.... I am sure some of the
more experienced movie makers here can add some info though...
did you try it to mpeg1? it is smaller than the avi....
remember also you can go back and make a new avi file from the gigga pocket
file also......
keep us posted... I need to learn more too about making the giga pocket
interface with movie maker!
