Since PS3 has a 300 image file limit I am going to make multiple PS3 projects
and then import each finished project into MM2 to create one video.
My question is:
Is there any way to change the default image viewing time from 5 seconds
down to 3 or 2.5 even? I have roughly 1900 images I am using from the past
racing season and do NOT want to have to manually change the setting for each
image.

PS3 doesn't provide for changing the default duration.... here's a couple
ways to do it.

You could make the stories with the defaults, extract the XML files from the
story projects, do a search and replace for the durations to change them to
what you want, and then put the XML file back into the story project....
this would be the way to do it if you wanted to keep them as stories, but as
you're heading to MM2 anyway, the next way is easier.

You could apply the speedup - double effect to the story clip in MM2 to get
them all from 5 seconds to 2-1/2.... you can tweak the speedup effect so it
gives you the exact change you want.

This assumes you would do any narration or background music in MM2, not PS3.

You can set a default duration in MM2. (Tools, Options, Advanced) Would that
help? I don't know if will respond since your importing a finished product
but I guess it is worth a try.
