xp home edition modem requirements |

I use a pcmcia fax modem as the dialing system on my laptop. Why won't my xp
download work with it? My old 98 worked fine but after downloading my new
xp home eddition all i get as a dialing ability is a broken lt win modem
originally in this computer. xp recognizes the device but won't use to dial
my provider |

Try opening internet connections,if its listed,R.click on it,properties,see
what info it has.You might/should also open add/remove programs,windows
components,chk the box in fax services,then enable all in networking
services,
then edit the others,close out.

Your Windows XP *install* (not download) needs to be provided with the
proper drivers for your modem. Check with the modem manufacturer's
web site for Windows XP drivers for your exact modem model.
