MM 2.1 and VRO files from camcorder

Hi all happy new year.
santa brought me a panasonic VDR-M50 camcorder which records to a ram disk
as a VRO file. should MM2.1 recognise this format or do i need to convert to
a alternative format and if so which one and which program should i use as
the software that was supplyed is very limited (DVD movie albume SE)
I am using XP prof sp2

conversion is needed.... see the importing source files > video > discs page
of my site.
