I've been working on a file for 2 months, but took a break for 5 weeks. When
I went to load my file, it loads, then after about 2 or 3 seconds, movie
maker turns off. I have not moved any of the files that are linked. I don't
know what happend and don't feel like starting over unless I have too.

Please help.

Hi Richard,
I am having the same problems here. It worked on one file , then I went to
do the next one and it just went blank, had to manually shutdown pc to get it
unlocked. I have tried the rememdy of increasing the virtual mem , no go. As
long as I compile at a low bit rate, where the finished file size is less
than about 2.1 megs it works, if I go to a larger bit rate such as 16,
crashes after about 10 seconds into the compile. Maybe we will get an answer
- hope so !! :)

Ok More on what is happening. Here is what I "was" doing , and having great
success at. I am converting audio cds (sermons from church) to wma files.
step 1. I use MGI Videowave4 to convert file to a .wav
step2. open wmm2 and import the .wav file, place it on the time line (audio
line)
step3. edit the file, usually just setting the in, and out points
step4. Save to pc, and I "used" to be able to select 32bit for file size
step5. then I would upload the file to web site as a wma for folks to listen
to.

Now all of a sudden, when I go to save the file, usually within 10 seconds
the machine freezes up. One thing seems to work, is to save the file as 8bit,
which made the file really small, but the quality is , um, yuk. Now after
reading post and going to Papas website, sheesh, a lot to do and check. Why
did it work on one file, then 5 mins later, on the next file I attepmted, it
hust quit ?
