Please see the continuation of this thread above. Basically, the errors were expected.
So the choices for you are:
- to ignore the errors
- to modify IIS.INF
- to delete IIS.INF from your build

It is too long for me to analyze it. But since it is not working in the start it might be possible to remove it.
I just wonder if MS prepopulated all registry entries that this file would do during the installation.

I know that, but iis.inf is one nasty piece of work. Although I wonder if it would be possible to configure all settings from TD
so that iis.inf is never processed.
How about deleting IIS.INF (disabling the file in the component resource sections)? If it has been processed with INF importer,

the required resources (reg.entries, files) are already there in the components.

Good point.
I doubt MS has chnaged the files names manually (too many file). It is all about IIS.INF.
If you take a look into the file you will notice that some files names get set the same way as in TD and lose the IIE_ prefix
while
copying.
E.g., the IIS_inetmgr.hlp from source (CD or /i386) gets renamed to inetmgr.hlp.
Also, on XP Pro you can find the same files without IIS_ prefix.
It is just that Setup API reports the errors with the source file names because it is trying to process IIS.inf.
So, assuming that the actual files (no IIS_ prefix) got to the build by adding the components I mentioned, it should be enough
for
IIS to work properly. However, SetupApi will probably still report the same SPFILENOTIFY_NEEDMEDIA errors but no harm.
The easiest way to remove the errors would probably be in modifying IIS.INF to remove IIS_ instances.

This bring us to missing feature for search trough source file names. (Someone should ask MS for it) Although I know what I
was
looking for and it was "IIS_startsrv.vbs" these file names were required according to Tabitha's log. to be present during the
FBA
or
some other install phase.
Adding components that you sugested might help but I'm little confused here about who do installation of these files and
where
source file names are written.

Unfortunately it appears as if these files are not componentized in XPe SP1 :-(
File binaries are present in repository and you can make your component that will copy these files if you need them. (Or

I know that, but iis.inf is one nasty piece of work. Although I wonder if it would be possible to configure all settings from
TD
so that iis.inf is never processed.
How about deleting IIS.INF (disabling the file in the component resource sections)? If it has been processed with INF importer,
all
the required resources (reg.entries, files) are already there in the components.

Good point.
I doubt MS has chnaged the files names manually (too many file). It is all about IIS.INF.
If you take a look into the file you will notice that some files names get set the same way as in TD and lose the IIE_ prefix
while
copying.
E.g., the IIS_inetmgr.hlp from source (CD or /i386) gets renamed to inetmgr.hlp.
Also, on XP Pro you can find the same files without IIS_ prefix.
It is just that Setup API reports the errors with the source file names because it is trying to process IIS.inf.
So, assuming that the actual files (no IIS_ prefix) got to the build by adding the components I mentioned, it should be enough
for
IIS to work properly. However, SetupApi will probably still report the same SPFILENOTIFY_NEEDMEDIA errors but no harm.
The easiest way to remove the errors would probably be in modifying IIS.INF to remove IIS_ instances.

This bring us to missing feature for search trough source file names. (Someone should ask MS for it) Although I know what I

looking for and it was "IIS_startsrv.vbs" these file names were required according to Tabitha's log. to be present during
the
FBA
or
some other install phase.
Adding components that you sugested might help but I'm little confused here about who do installation of these files and
where
source file names are written.

The files are there (SP1 and SP2). Add "IIS Core Libraries" and "IIS Documentation" components.
Please be aware that the file names listed in the components do not have IIS_ prefix (that is why you could not find them
with
TD
Filters). But the Src Name field of the files is set properly.

My image functions just fine. I have problems when adding a Printer.
I receive the error message "The following hardware was installed
Printer. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The

Tabitha,
Please leave iis.inf file in your image. There is no need to delete it.
Now if I understand correctly you are trying to manually install printer to your post FBA image and it fails, right?
If so then before you do installation you should:
1. Delete setupapi.log so we can have a clean view to what happened.
2. Use filemon, regmon to see what happens.
3. Use dependency walker in XPe on all files that are troubled in setupapi.log and see if all binary dependencies are in your image.
Please do this, then we can go from there.
