Hi all,

I have the following topology - a simple 2-host home network;

Internet
|
cable modem
|
gateway notebook PC (Windows XP with ICS enabled for the outgoing link)
|
(Bluetooth Personal Area Network)
|
client tablet PC (Windows XP)

Both PC's have Cisco VPN Client v4.0.5 installed. The gateway is assigned
192.168.81.1 and client is assigned 192.168.81.106 on the LAN.

I am required to VPN to my school in order to access subscription services.
For that, I am able to browse through the pages on my gateway PC after the
VPN connection established. However I would also like to use VPN from my
client PC. There I have the problem... Without VPN enabled in either of the
PC's, the client can surf the Internet without a problem through the gateway
PC, but once the VPN is enabled in either of the machines, this is no longer
possible - I am losing the connection to the Internet from client PC.

I have googled through Internet, and encountered similar issues, but not
exactly defining my problem. At one resource it is said that the problem
could cease if installed a router, but I really would like to find a
solution without the need for a router, if possible. I am suspecting that I
have to tweak with IP addresses and/or configuration parameters, I already
tried a couple of things. I fear that there is an incompatibility issue that
renders such a scenario impossible, so I decided posting on the newsgroup
before attempting anything further.

I can provide further details,

Thank you very much,

-Kemal.
