My Laptop is running on XP SP2.
Previously it's connected to a Domain Controller which is in WinNT server
4.0 without any problem.
Recently I had installed the Visual Studio .NET 2003 to my laptop. Now the
problem is my laptop failed to connect to my domain. When I try to ping any
PC using IP address it's OK without any error but when I try to ping
hostname, it gave me this error:
Ping request could not find host PCSearch. Please check the name and try
again.

and I also cannot see my laptop's computer name in other PC's network places.

Can anyone help.....
Thanks.

Run the nslookup command from your PC to verifier that it can reach a DNS
server
If not verify that your DNS server is up and running and DHCP register.

If it still fails try to force a dnsflush and renew from ipconfig switch

hope it helps
