No Audio from Video in Timeline Preview |

I've made a couple of short videos with MM, and I've never had any problems.
The other day, I started a new project, and placed a few clips in the
timeline. When I previewed it, all of sudden, there was no audio. When I
highlight the clip in the folder, and hit play on the preview screen, there
is audio, but when I highlight the timeline and hit play, it doesn't play the
audio. Also, at the same time, I have no system sounds for my computer.
I've checked all of the drivers and audio settings and everything seems fine.
I have audio in all other applications except MM and no system sounds (such
as asterisk, alert, etc. .) What the heck happened?
