Hi all,
Today I experienced the second machine where, at random, the
internal modem doesn't show up in the hardware list after startup.
Thus one is unable to connect and a reboot (or two or three) is
necessitated. In both cases I've removed the PCI modem to
make sure the contacts are clean and secure, after which a few
boots later the same happens again. They are entirely different
machines and modems (hardware), one machine with XPpro and
one with XPhome, so there are no commons I can think of.
Is there a XP issue regarding this, or are the planets in the african
skies just aligned that way ? I tried to google on this matter, but
soon figured my question would be better put here.
