Hello, I'm asking a question pertaining to a problem my friend is having. He has bought a new video card, and installed it. AFterwards, his start menu has disappeared. If he reconnects his monitor to the old onboard port, without reconfiguring anything, his computer works, and his start menu is there.

He is running Windows XP SP2 and his new video card is a Radeon 9250 128MB PCI. His onboard video device is ProSavage DDR S3 Graphics, Version 6.14.10.25.

Does anyone know what could cause the disappearance of his start menu?
