USB drive letters keep escalating |

Each time I plug in a USB drive it assigns the next highest drive letter than the previous time, all the way to "Z". After that it wont recognize the USB drives anymore. I have to unistall the USB controllers in device manager and let them reinstall so that the alphabet will start over. The USB device will not show in "my computer" until I assign it the lowest avaliable drive letter using disk manager. From then it will show up each time I plug it in, but it uses the next drive letter until I run out at "Z".
I then have to start the process all over.
Can anyone help? |
