Can't Log In |
|
|
Hi!
A few days ago a file called "WINFILE.exe" appeared on my C: disk. After a dozen deletes it still was there, I checked the Task Manager and saw a "Y.exe" process. Stopping the Y.exe didn't help.
Anyway, I ended up deleting some registry entries...
After deleting the last entry I was logged off. After a dozen attempts to log in with my password I realised that my password was a blank. After logging in it shows my desktop wallpaper for 3 seconds a then I'm being logged of again.
I think I deleted some kind of a 'Log In' entry in RegEdit, one which contained all the info and setting of the Administrator User (me).
I got the whole Windows folder back-up on a DVD but I don't know what should I do. I don't know how to restore the registry file with DOS (if it's even possible).
I got Windows XP Home Edition (service pack 1a), I got the original installation CD, I just created a start-up disk on a PC in my College (although they have service pack 2).
I'll appreciate any suggestions to solve this problem.
Thanks! |
