How to restore original settings when Windows XP restart? |
|
|
Dear WinXPtalk members and moderators,
A pleasant day to everyone.
One day I went to this Internet cafe to have a web surfing, then I notice that there are so many "junks" (i.e. shortcuts that are not working and a wallpaper so "painful" in the eyes), so for the meantime, I'd erase the shortcuts and change the wallpaper and restore it back later just for other user's sake...
But when I'd restarted the PC, I was surprised to see that all that I'd erase shortcuts and the wallpaper was restored to its original setting...back to what it was! I tried it again (delete and change the wallpaper), but everytime that I restart the PC, it keeps on restoring to its original setting. I wonder if the shop uses some software or it's some settings to Windows XP.
Do you have an idea how did they do it? The owner won't share it to me. I'm really planning to invest to have a Internet cafe, and this stuff will help me to avoid unneccesary changes in settings and all.
Thank you and more power!

I'd presume they use something like deepfreeze. Thats basically a program where you can do watever you like to it but it stays the same when you log back on. I saw various examples of this while on work experience. Its found in places like schools or internet cafes.
(edit) just to add to that heres the link

Dear Sir,
I just want to thank you for the info you gave me...I really don't have any idea that it is a work of a software. I thought it was something to do with Windows Registry. Thanks again, I guess I'll try to look for this software.
God bless you always. _________________ Mark Ryan "Squall"
