Hello everyone!

My problem is that when I choose "repair an exsisting windows installation", Windows asks me for the administrator password! The ONLY password that has ever been entered when first installing windows is mine!

But MINE does not work!! WHY?! I am the only one who uses this PC. So that would make me the administrator! I typed in the same password that I use to log onto my desktop but it does not work!!

Is there a special password to use when repairing an installation?!

Chances are that you are pressing "R" too soon and trying to enter the Recovery Console (DOS-like screen). You need to wait and press "R" after you agree to the license (F8) and setup searches for current installations of Windows.

The password may be a blank.

Thanks!

But I DO wait until the "F8" part. AFTER F8, Windows then asks if you want to perform a new insatall or a repair. Thats when it would give me trouble.

BUT for some strange reason, it didnt ask me for a password after rebooting and I was able to do the repairs! (weird)

Thank You anyway! Have a Great Memorial Day!
