Hi there,

I use win xp and have an airtel broadband connection. As soon as Iam online, www.buyer-shabit.com site opens up, www.ecomerce.com opens up in another two minutes, www.pay.popups.com crops up, and not to forget those ad flyers which tells me to buy a loan, buy a car, apply for a job, flyer of a beauty soap( ad with a women bathing) and many flyers which are very very annoying and embarrasing, comes right on the centre of the desktop.

I've tried adaware, spyware doctor, registry mechanic, spybots, yahoo anti spy, and many other spywares but to no avail.

the problen still persists and iam not able to use my net connection bcoz of such ads and sites cropping up.

please help and email me at y2kamitabh@yahoo.com.

thanx in advance.

What version of Windows XP do you have installed and has it Service Pack 2? Is it up-to-date?

Is there an antivirus, program, firewall and antispyware program installed?

You col do a full scan at: Windows Live Safety Center. It can remove virus(es) and/or spyware. If you do a scan then disable the current installed antivirus program for the moment.

To check whether your version of Windows is up-to-date, check at: Windows Update.

If you do not have any antispyware software installed, then you could consider to install Windows Defender (Beta).

Hope this helps...

If you are being redirected from a site it's called phising, but i think you have an adware problem. Adware is different from spyware in the sense that it is more annoying than harmful, it'll give you random pop-ups but normally dosen't give away personal information like spyware can.

http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-2-5

There's a link the the program, totally free with no banners and has updating. BUt i also couldn't hurt to install spybot s&d, windows defender (as jubo stated, although i think it rarely catches anything), ccleaner (deletes most everything that can be accesed by the internet to track you, ex. cookies, temporary internet files, etc.) icesword (rootkit killer, rootkit are like invisble safes that anti-virus and other apps usally can't see...sony cd's have some of these). And i guess a last resort is back-up all of you important info and wipe the hard disk or re-install windows. Good luck!
