Hey guys,

Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I have Windows XP Professional.

Recently, I just noticed that my "dialog boxes" (I think that is the correct term) do not appear anymore.

Whenever I unplug or plug my ethernet cable into my computer, it shows the red x on the taskbar, but the pop blimp that says "LAN connected" does not show.

Neither does the "New Programs Installed" show up anymore when I click on the start menu after installing a program.

Does anyone have a solution to this?
