Search Wizard Crashes Explorer |
I received a new computer at work last week, and have stumbled on a problem that our IT department cant figure out. If i try to do a search for file on the computer, as soon as the search form loads, an error is generated and says that explorer is shutting down. Im using XP pro.
The really weird thing that i discovered is that if i disconnect my network cable from the computer, the search function WORKS! Even if i leave it connected, but change the speed/duplex settings for the network card, the search will then work, but only until i reboot the machine, then it goes back to giving me the error. I have tried re-installing SP2, and that doesnt fix it. Even if an admin logs on to the machine, it fails for him too, so its not a profile issue. I even updated the network card drivers to the current edition to no evail. Has anyone else had this similar problem? if so, where should I look next to solve it? I cant find anything about it on the web.
Thanks! |
