hello everyone
i need to know what is BIOS and what is function of BIOS.
one of friend once said BIOS can be updated. as in what actually BIOS is and do we have to regularly update our BIOS.
please help me.

BIOS is a program burned into the flash memory on the Mainboard, it's often considered to be a part of the hardware.

When computer powers on, BIOS controls the computer and hands controls to operating system.

BIOS can be updated, but if it fails, your computer won't work any more. I have never tried it, as I haven't any necessary BIOS updates.
