Anyone use Partition Magic? |
|
|
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience using Partition Magic? I am thinking of getting it as I need to resize one of my partitions. Are there other utilities like this that I might consider?
Thanks,
John |

| I used it a couple years ago, worked very well. AFAIK, Partition Magic has been around for a very long time and is the best partition tool. |

Since Symantec took over this program, there have been innumerable reports of problems and data loss.
I'd highly suggest Acronis Disk Director Suite, or an exceptional program I have been using lately that allows the creation and deletion of partitions (without data loss), defragging, and file-system checks, even from the simple bootable floppy disk:

| You could check out a Linux magazine with a live CD/DVD of a distro that has QParted. Only about $10 to $15, and you might discover you like Linux as a dual boot option with XP. |
