no sound on tuner card |
|
|
I have a MCE pc setup with two tuner cards. The first tuner card is a
Hauppauge 150. The second tuner card is the high def Aver 180. I use the
first card for cable input and the second card is hooked up to a big antenna
for local high def channels. Everything worked great until about 3 days ago.
I dont' get any sound with my programs coming from the high def card. When
the pc is at the desktop I get sound, in Media Center I get sound while
going through menus, when watching channels through my Hauppauge 150 card I
get sound. But when I watch tv using the HD card I get no sound. I have made
NO changes to my computer or configurations lately. Did my card go bad? What
could cause it to quit producing sound?

I don't get sound through live tv or recorded shows when going through the
HD card. I tried reinstalling the card but that didn't work.

sound there but not on recordings? Next make sure the RF cable hasn't
come
lose or anything like that. Third I would set a system restore point and
then clear and reload the high def card driver.
If all of that fails you may have a blown card. I've lost one myself but
that happened when I was actually hooking something up to it.
It isn't likely to be a volume settings issue if everything else sounds
ok.
Good luck.
