Problems with ICS Discovery and Control |
|
|
Hello Everyone,
I'm having a problem with Internet Connection Sharing Discovery and Control.
I have two laptops, one with Wi-Fi and one without. The Wi-Fi laptop is
wirelessly connected to my router - the other laptop is connected to the
Wi-Fi laptop by an Ethernet cable. The Wi-Fi laptop is configured to allow
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). It seems to work no problem - I can surf
the Web on both laptops.
Now I want to use ICS Discovery and Control, as detailed in these articles:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/hnw_dc_understanding.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/hnw_dc_using.mspx
All I can manage, however, is to get the icon for the relevant network
connection to show up in the taskbar. I can't get it to display any of the
information it should on the Shared Connection and there's no disconnect
button.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it?
Any help much appreciated.
