HI

I just got a new BIOS for my computer and it has to be copied to a
bootable floppy. I don't have a floppy drive on my computer (first time
I have needed one for 4 yrs). If I copy the file to a USB device, can
the USB be made bootable?

The easiest thing to do is to obtain a version of your BIOS update which can
be written to a CD. Then, boot your computer from the CD. Whomever is
supplying your BIOS should have complete instructions.
