when i try to install my version of wmc 2005 it starts installin but near the
end a box pops up could not reitrieve of save information about your disk
drives. anybody got any ideas?

Try formatting your harddrive.
Make sure your Bios is set to Boot From CD...*****
If you have an old o.s. run scandisk
