Analog flag (CGMS-A) is blocking any recording of this show (ex. 09NOV05):

"Too Late With Adam Carolla was not recorded. Recording of this content is
prohibited by the content provider."

Ever since Update Rollup 2, nearly every show when it's recording says its
copy-protected and after the recording never mentions whether or not it's
protected. Now you can't record some at all. What is going on? Is this
going to spread and am I going to have to say buh-bye to MS MCE 2K5? If you
can't use the software to record shows, what good is it? People pay good
money, and quite a lot of it for MCE computers; so why can't we
record/watch/delete shows? Are cable/sat comp. who provide their own DVRs
limited by this restriction? Am I going to be forced to abandon MS and find
an alternative that doesn't have this problem? I think these restrictions
will cause a serious fallout with consumers. I was going to buy an XBOX360,
in part for its MCE capabilities, but I won't if this cont. and/or expands.
Is there anyway around this? Will Vista's MCE have the same problems?

Any help, comments, suggestions, and explanations would be extremely
appreciated.

There is a known bug with copy protection, but I've not heard of it
happening on Comedy Central (that's the channel, right?). In some cases
this may be caused by the cable company itself adding the flags when they
shouldn't be...you might contact them and complain. In the meantime, rest
assured that Microsoft is looking at the problem.

That's why I figured it may be his cable company inserting those bits. The
only channels I remember hearing of with this issue were HBO and Showtime...
