Hello,

I have a Sager notebook with MCE 2005 on it and an internal tunner card. I'm
trying to connect my X-box to it so i can play games on it. I'm using a
s-video connection with the RCA audio. when I check for signal MCE tells me
somthing is there, but does not display anything. Do I need the Microsoft
X-Box Media Center Extender for this set-up to work?

Thanks

You won't be able to play any console game through MCE due to the 2 second
buffer for Live TV playback (everything you see will have happened 2 seconds
ago, which makes playing video games pretty hard unless you have Jedi Powers
or something).

There's a chance that your tv tuner might have its own app that doesn't have
this limitation, but it'd be dependent on what your OEM gives you (if there
is such software at all)
