I have an application that needs DCOM to work, but for some reason,
DCOM is disabled on the PC every time I reboot. I believe this is a
policy issue, but I cannot find the setting that needs to be changed.

Does anyone know why DCOM might be disabled just by rebooting a
computer?

Hi Joshua,
Go to Start>Run, type "dcomcnfg" in the text box and use the Component
Services Management Console.
Expand the Component Services node, then the Computers object, then My
Computer, then the DCOM Config object. Locate the target application, right
click on the package icon that represents your desired application and select
Properties. Assuming you have Use Default configured under the Launch and
Activation Permissions on the Security tab, click on the Identity tab and
make sure "The interactive user" is selected.
hth,
Barry
