I have a Toshiba Portege 2000 which is stuck in a Hibernation retart loop -
it purports to be coming out of hibernation, but actually fails and reboots
again.
I think the Hibernation file is corrupt - in which case (research indicates)
it should take me to a prompt offering me the option to:

Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu

....which I would happily do, but it doesn't.

I can occasionally get the Windows startup option screen with F8 - and I've
tried Last Known Good Configuration, but that doesn't help.
It seems impossible to get out of this...

Root of the drive hidden, system file.

Attrib -h -s hiberfil.sys

Further info - I can't start Power Options in Safe Mode to turn Hibernation
off; and I can't find hiberfil.sys anywhere in order to delete it manually!

That's what I thought - can't see it in Windows Explorer (even with Show
system files on), and can't get a systen prompt without crashing to
double-check.
