My C Drive is protected by EWF Ram, and if a Lockup or something occurs,
instead of a normal shutdown, we loose our system and event logs. The only
oher disck we have available is USB Flash drive, which is there "most" of
the time, but can be removed for short periods of time (minutes).
If we re-direct writes of the event logs to our USB Drive, what would happen
if it was not available? Would the system flag an error and keep running or
shutdown or what?
Yes, doing a second partition may be the best way, but we would rather not
since there are many many target machines all over the US. Not only are
they hard to get to, but they are not connected to the internet either.
I could write a script to change the registry settings for the event log and
system log to the new path, then commit it. But before I do this, I'd like
to know of any possible brick walls.
