administrator changes that I'm not making? |

I'm getting dialogue boxes telling me that the administrator has changed
settings that I as the administrator are not making.
Using IE on TOOL Internet Options I can no longer view this as the message
tells me this is noi longer available due to an admin change.
Where do I go to solve this?? |

If the message says something along the lines of this action has been
prevented by an administrator, etc then maybe you used an internet
protection package such as one for spyware or malware to lockdown your
computer to secure it from hijacks etc. If you have installed or configured
such a program as of late that may be the problem. Some of these programs do
not make it clear to the user when they are being installed what they all
do. If you have not done anything like that then maybe you are a victim of
spyware or malware and should scan your computer for viruses with your
antivirus program being sure to use the latest definition file from your
publishers website. For spyware I suggest that you start with AdAware SE
which has a free for personal user version. To minimize the noise that it
will detect be sure to clear your cookies and temporary internet files
before scanning with it and make sure that you are using the latest
definitions for it before you scan. It should check for such during

Thanks I have AdAware and have run it, identied three object quarantined ande
leted them. I have aslo restored back to a prior restore point, but still the
same.
From IE-Tools-Internet options, the tabs are still missing. The dialog bx
reads"Operations cancelled due to Restrciotns on the Computer', which I have
no recollection of making, any further ideas?

If you are using XP Pro try opening local Group Policy using gpedit.msc and
go to user configuration /administrative templates/Windows
components/Internet Explorer/internet control panel and configure all the
settings there to be disabled to see if that helps. If that does not work
try downloading Doug Knox's .vbs script at the link below to run to change
registry settings that should allow you access. --- Steve
