How to print as per number on the page? |
|
|
Recently discovered that printer driver HP3330mfp cannot understand docs
that start with a Roman numeralled preface and then go on with (1) (2)....
If say one has (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (1) (2).
Or if I use the recently discovered drop down in Print Preview that lets one
view the sections of an HTML doc on different pages:
(-) (-) (-) (1) (2).
The driver does not allow entering Roman in the pages to be printed (I'm
sure I've been able to do this somewhere in the past), but if one assumes it
is doing an overall count of the 8 pages in the first instance:
ask it to print (1)-(5) in anticipation of (i)-(v) and all is well. But ask
it for (1)-(8) and what you get is (i)-(vi), (8).
Similarly in the HTML instance you can only get pages (1) & (2) by printing
the whole sequence. If you ask for (1) you get (-), but if you ask for a
presumed (4)&(5) hoping for the actual (1)&(2), you get nothing!
So how can one get the printer to take notice of what is on the document
rather than go its own peculiar way? HP do not seem to understand this
problem.
(Things are actually more complicated than I've described, as I also want to
print pages in any order and leave blanks in order to have the correct
sequence when folded: but the above situation is quite enough of an
irritation in itself.)
I'm sure someone out there must have the solution?
