You don't NEED to upgrade, however, the newer version of MSN Messenger have |

This is really your choice. I like to keep my computer tidy so I choose to |
uninstall the standard Messenger which can be found under Add/Remove
Programs|Windows Components|Windows Messenger. However, the newer versions
of MSN Messenger should replace all legacy versions automatically. Your
choice.

In all reality, you should be able to recieve files from anywhere. The only |
thing limiting this would be any firewalls\blockers that either the sender or
reciever computers could be running. Get the latest version of Messenger and
give-it a shot. |
