Date and time (again) |

Hello.
I asked about how to get time and date with my filmclips yesterday and got
some good tips (thanks to PapaJohn and Graham Hughes). None of them to my
satisfaction though.
The problem:
To get time and date showing in the lower right corner (or someplace else,
of course...) of my home movies.
The help i got:
1) To make my camcorder to embed the info so it would turn up automaticly.
I didn't manage that.
2) To download software to fix my problem.
Downloaded DVDate. That program only work with .avi-files. .avi-files are
big! Since i don't have room for my home movies in .avi-format, this solution
didn't work for me either.
My question:
Does anybody know how i can get time and date showing on a .wmv-file?

P.S. I know that I can
a) capture one film in .avi
b) use DVDate
c) burn it
d) delete it from my computer
e) repeat from a) with next film |

What are you really trying to do? Either you include a timestamp with the
video AS YOU CAPTURE it on your camera - or you don't ;-)
Or, do you want to watermark a WMM-generated WMV file with a timestamp?
Or, do you want to add a title with a timestamp, by hand or automatically?
Or, do you just want to name the file with a timestamp included to make it
easy to find?
Basically, there are people out *here* who would like to help, but we need
to know more about your *real* "need".
Have a think about that ;-)

I'm sorry if i seem a bit confused and don't know what I meen. English isn't
my strongest side (swedish is!). What I want is this:
I want the timestamp to show on the monitor/TV when I watch my .wmv-files on
my computer/TV!
(The program DVDate can fix that but only on .avi-files and not on
..wmv-files)

I'm sorry, but you cannot do this. The time date stamp is part of the meta
data and not burnt to the video as it was with older analogue camcorders.
You have two options, buy a new hard drive, they are not too expensive and
then work with the better quality dv-avi files, or add it manually to your
wmv's.
Did you check out all the apps I pointed you to? I've not used them all, so
am not sure if they all work with only dv-avi or not.
