Autologon fails -- sometimes |
|
|
I have not quite figured out what causes this, but it seems like
occasionally (but too frequently for my patience!), I seem to generate an
image that makes it all the way through FBA, but then on the next boot just
after the message "Applying Computer Settings", I get an error box "The
System cannot log you on...", and when clicking OK I get the default
Administrator logon icon that I have to click. Once this happens, it will
come up that way every time, even though Autologon is correctly configured
and most of the time it works.
I also swear that I have fixed this condition by just reformatting the boot
drive, copying the XPE image files again, and repeating the same FBA
initialization.
Anyone know why Autologon would fail inconsistently in this way? It's
possible that having my target system connected to my office network when
FBA'ing might be related, but I don't really have the time to do much
experimentation (the build, format, copy, FBA cycle takes about 40 minutes
for me).
