_X__ I've had problems (please include brief description).
Computer will not go into standby or hibernate modes anymore. Very annoying.

So please reply to this message with one of the two responses:

___ I've had no problems.
___ I've had problems (please include brief description).

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Video stutters now. Also received a video DRM error yesterday. This was
a first, plus I'm on analog cable! Looks like Microsoft got too happy
with the DRM restrictions.

___ I've had problems (please include brief description).

After first install of rollup 2 my extender would not play live TV.
Everything else
worked fine (including recorded TV). Could not restore, uninstall or roll
back to a fully functional extender. So, I took the opportunity to upgrade my
TV tuner, reformat my system HD, and do a clean install. RU2 is now
installed and the extender (and the whole system) is working fine.

I have had some problems, but not catastrophic. TV shows played in Media
Center after resuming from Standby will often hiccup until I close MCE and
restart. Then, all seems to work fine.

My remote seems to be very tempermental after RU2, but I haven't tried the
solutions posted by some of the MS staff blogs yet, I will attempt them this
weekend.

Otherwise, all seems okay, but for what it did, RU2 seems to be WAY
overhyped. All this talk about DVD changer support (and yet, no mention of
supported players) and Away Mode (and yet no mention of what's needed) really
makes me think this was a major marketing ploy by MS to fend off Apple's new
software. Other than a few bug fixes, and a "soft reboot" at night, RU2
seems rather...dull.

My 2 cents.

_XXXXXX__ I've had problems (please include brief description).

Major problems: HP Media Center 854 (vintage, I know).

Since the "ugrade," my system cannot detect the TV tuner, even after I've
tried all the incantations listed here: Uninstalling Rollup 2, reinstalling
Framework 1.1, updating drivers--you name it.

I cannot access Live TV.

Sure hope Microsoft is working on these issues.

Be sure Bob, to also pass along how many people that are unhappy about
having been lied to about the ability use extenders with their 2004 MCE
PC's, since you are passing information around and all.

I've had problems

I use media center very basically, all I do is record TV and view it. Since
installing the update (which it appears I cannot uninstall) media center as
froze 30% of the time we go to enter the TV section of media center. I never
had a problem before the update.

Tuner signal is available as it will appear in the settings. FM Radio
will play on Hauppauge pvr150MCE, but no TV. Button reacts, then
nothing. Have been through all of the updates and reinstalls.

Uninstalling does rollup 2 does nothing.

Have not researched the DVD encoder. Doing so now.

Requiring an update days later to a rollup that is supposed to fix
other problems,and still doesn't, shouldn't happen.

I uninstalled the one hotfix that was recommended by the Rollup 2
instructions. At the end of the R2 install I got a DRM EXE error. When I
started MCE the live TV screen errored telling me I needed to install a
driver for my TV tuner. When I tried to play recorded TV I got some generic
application error. I uninstalled R2 and that fixed most things except that
my LinkSys MCX wouldn't work because the MCX service manager on the MCE
wasn't started. Fortunately I created a system restore point before
installing R2 and restoring back to it fixed that problem.

I'm sticking with R1 for the fore-seeable future. And if the UI keeps going
the way it's going with Vista MCE, I may be sticking with MCE 2005 for a
long time.

Bob, I take it back. This survey was relevant. There is no doubt in my mind
that there are some very major issues with Rollup 2 - again, how this got
past QA is beyond me.

Bob;

I had the usual problems, but after updating NVIDIA to 77.79 and
reinstalling Rollup 2, and the update to rollup 2 all seems to be OK.

_X_ I've had problems - so far the CPU is at 100%, the4 guide would not even
download until I reinstalled the latest ATI drivers for the ATI X800XT card.

Now unable to remove as it says parts of the system are missing. Only
solution I can see if a format and reinstall of the OS. Oncew done I'm
unlikely to install Roll Up 2 at all.
